Quick answer

Yes — you can pay Super Visa insurance monthly. IRCC accepts a policy that is paid in instalments with a deposit. Several Canadian insurers offer monthly plans; the deposit, fees and refund rules differ, so compare the total yearly cost before choosing.

How monthly Super Visa plans work

  1. Choose an insurer that offers instalments and get a quote.
  2. Pay the deposit (often the first month or two) when the policy is issued.
  3. The remaining months are charged automatically to your credit card.
  4. You receive a full policy document for the visa application — showing it is being paid by instalments.

Tips

  • Use a credit card that won't expire during the year.
  • Ask whether the monthly plan covers stable pre-existing conditions — not all do.
  • Check the refund rules if your parents might return early.

Monthly plan FAQ

Does IRCC accept monthly payment for Super Visa insurance?

Yes. IRCC's rules say the policy must be paid in full or paid in instalments with a deposit. A monthly plan with a deposit meets that rule; a quote alone does not.

Is a monthly plan more expensive?

Sometimes slightly. Some insurers add a small instalment fee, and some require a larger deposit. Pankaj shows the total yearly cost of monthly and annual options side by side.

What happens if a monthly payment is missed?

The insurer can cancel the policy, which may affect the visitor's status and leave them uninsured. Use a payment method that won't fail, and tell Pankaj straight away if your card changes.

Can I switch from monthly to paying in full?

Usually yes — most insurers let you pay the remaining balance at any time.

Can I get a refund if my parents return home early?

Usually yes. If the travellers go home before the policy ends and there are no claims, most insurers refund the unused portion after you send proof of return, minus a small administration fee. Each insurer's rules differ, so ask Pankaj before you buy.

Does Super Visa insurance cover pre-existing conditions?

It can. Many plans offer an option that covers stable pre-existing conditions such as controlled blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol. 'Stable' means no change in treatment, medication or symptoms during a set period (often 90, 180 or 365 days) before coverage starts. You must answer every medical question honestly — a wrong answer can void a claim.
